Les and his team were fantastic from the start. Communication was great. His team were careful to place scaffolding on blocks of wood so that my driveway wasn’t stained. They take all their rubbish away daily to keep the site clean. The advice given regarding insulation was excellent, and the job was completed swiftly. The guys were polite, didn’t require music blaring and were very professional throughout. Expensive, cut corners leading to more work and left us high and very wet!
They charged me £218 to change 4 tiles (2 valley tiles and two normal all on the same side of the roof).
A week later a storm started and the roof was leaking in the same place as before (from where the cracked valley tiles were).
My husband went on the roof and found that they had just glued the valley tiles together and shoved a large piece of flashing underneath a the surrounding roof tiles. They repair looked massively bodged. A couple of hours later we heard a large noise and the tiles around the flashing slid off (we had never had issues losing tiles on that area of the roof before).
We contacted Les. The lads came out and replaced the two valley tiles, but leaving the large hole in the roof. They then said that the tiles slid probably because of rotton batons. They said that we needed massive amounts of work doing on our roof (this would have cost several thousand). After which, they left us high and very wet (also keeping the £218 for the replacement of the 4 tiles - of which two were originally glued).
We got another roofer out who checked the batons, which were all totally fine and they fixed the roof no problems. The new roofer also said that my roof did not need all the massive work the Les said our roof needed, potentially saving us thousands. But it still cost us hundreds more to put the roof right.
I would not have written this review. Except for three reasons 1) charging me for work that they didn't do and bodged up 2) once they actually replaced the valley tiles (leaving the hole in the roof), they disappeared keeping our money. Since then we have had awful weather and we would have been soaked over Christmas. So, it is a good job we never waited for them. 3) I told Les of all the roofing horror stories we had and having to pay twice for work to be redone. Not only did we have to pay twice, we had to pay a lot more than that and just before Christmas.

Les and the Team were a pleasure to deal with their work was first class and I would highly recommend them. They provided a complete service including their own scaffolding and waste removal. The new roof was installed to a very high standard and has improved the insulation, appearance and value of my home. I would thoroughly recommend them to anyone considering a roof replacement or roof work in general.

So 2 years ago me and my neighbors needed new roofs. My neighbor being nervous really wanted a highly rated roofer who could provide a 10 year warrentee which ends up with us all paying a little extra than any other quotes to keep the neighbor happy. When I asked Lez for a multi job discount he stated "I don't need to give discounts I get plenty of work" fair play....
Moving on- Roofers came and done the job, one of them obviously left their name scribed onto the roof for all to see. Don't get me wrong he came back and cleaned it.
Its an old house (around 100 years old port sunlight type) when I noticed one of the wooden peaks had moved, surely enough Lez came out, and banged 2 4-6 inch screws in.. to hold it in place.....
Some of the lead was too short and someone came and super glued some to it.....
They also removed a old cast iron gutter and replaced it all with the cheapest pvc version. They also took and kept a copper boiler from the attic..
My roof has two tones... where you can clearly see a different batch used.
Now I can swallow all these little niggles to keep the mrs happy, but now I am looking to upgrade the attic I find more problem....
Note- nails that not only miss the wood but also go through the membrane.
Cut the wood too short that supports the roof?...no probs...just bridge the gap with screws.
and that is without...putting half the insulation back, giving me a heads up to lay plastic down before just smashing all the old roof mortar into all over the attic.. putting wood in the correct places on joists ...

We initially contacted Les because of a leak in our roof Oct 2024. He sent the guys round they fixed the roof after finding a birds nest. Further checks resulted in a new roof being needed, was initially told Feb 2025 as a date, guys turned up mid Jan. The team who came have been brilliant, turned up when expected, communicated throughout the whole process, kept us safe, dry and warm during 2 storms in 5 days. The neighbours have given brilliant feedback about the experience. We wouldn't hesitate to call on the team again, the drive and deck have been swept clean. Thank you from the Hintons
